Technical Support for Yacht and Boat Projects......

I offer a wide range of design, surveying and consultancy services to yacht and powerboat owners, purchasers, boat builders, manufacturers, boatyards and organisations -  all at very reasonable prices.  This work is supported by more than 39 years experience of designing sailing yachts and power boats, in addition to extensive academic and professional qualifications as a Naval Architect and Chartered Engineer.

Located beside the River Hamble on the central south coast, close to the famous Solent yachting centres, I can provide high quality computer-aided design work for one-off new-build projects, production boats and the conversion of existing vessels. I can also carry out a survey of any yacht or motor boat for general condition, pre-purchase, insurance renewal, damage assessment or other purposes.  In addition, I offer a range of technical support services which include the production of stability booklets and damage survival analysis for MCA Codes, as well as carrying out stability assessments for RCD compliance.

With the benefit of Internet-based communications, my services are available to clients across the world.  Since 2002, work has been completed for clients based in Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Sweden, The Netherlands and the USA, as well as many from the UK.  Click here to read some comments from clients.

This 67-page site contains details of the various services and some explanation of the technology involved, including exciting new design work, surveying examples, a re-powering project and short video clips of tank testing in progress.  In addition there are pages of general interest from several Boat Shows, the America's Cup Jubilee Regatta, the J-Class Yachts, workboats and other interesting yachts and boats I have seen recently - see What's New?  or the  Site Directory.

Learning yacht and boat design in the computer age is both very rewarding and great fun.  I can offer a range of opportunities to develop new skills, including hands-on Yacht Design Training using the superb Maxsurf suite of integrated hull design and analysis programs including Maxsurf, Hydromax, Workshop, Hullspeed and SPAN. Training is also available on AutoCAD LT and other CAD programs.

If you are a buying a yacht or motor boat, perhaps as a first-time buyer, then I can provide a full technical service to get you on the water safely, including a survey and boat safety check, sea trial, engine test, valuation for insurance, training afloat and advice.

In addition, I can offer FREE ADVICE by Email on many questions relating to yacht and powercraft design, surveying and naval architecture.
Thank you for visiting my web site.
